ARMADA BLUE has invaded the US from its underground home of
Copenhagen, Denmark. The strong song-writing team of American
expatriate Nathan Kunkel and Swedish guitarist Harald Juul have put
together a tight and energetic group whose straight-ahead songs are
wrapped with addictive melodies. Kunkel masterfully displays his
distinctive vocals, while the band shows its expertise in delivering
a solid groove. The supporting players in the group are Johnnie
Müller on bass, Carsten Kaas on keyboards, and Rasmus Grosell on
drums and percussion. Their self-titled debut album delivers eleven
impressive songs that span a range of pop styles from modern rock to
more alternative and funk influenced music. Sue the Maker
was the first track to be singled out by commercial radio stations
for some heavy air-time and is just the tip of the iceberg on an
album full of potential singles.
Cry was released separately as a single for radio. | |
